Ashden 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award was
awarded to IDEI for its exceptional contribution for
raising over 1 million farmers out of poverty while
simultaneously developing and supporting supply
chains across 15 states in India. IDEI’s role in
enabling smallholder farmers to access low cost
environment friendly easy to use “treadle pumps” to
irrigate their land was acknowledged.
